De steengoed theepot is een bij hoge temperatuur gebakken theepot van keramiek. Zelfs ongeglazuurd zou het geen geheugen hebben, omdat het niet poreus is en verschillende soorten thee in dezelfde theepot kunnen worden gezet.
De sterkte en de hardheid van steengoed (klei gebakken op ongeveer 1300°C) maken het mogelijk stevige theepotten voor dagelijks gebruik te vervaardigen die bestand zijn tegen krassen, corrosie en zuren.
